I believe in an open-door policy and actively seek my team’s input, as diverse perspectives drive our innovation and accomplishments. Our success is centred on creating a supportive environment where individuals flourish. I prioritise my team's happiness, engagement, and pride – when they thrive, so does our business. Outside of work, I indulge my passion for travel, relishing opportunities to explore different cultures. Skiing and gym workouts are another love of mine. I also cherish walking my dogs and spending time with close friends and family.

I oversee the operation of our technician team, ensuring we meet project deadlines, and supporting our valuable customer relationships. With nearly a decade dedicated to this industry, I've grown from being a skilled refrigeration and AC technician to a leader who guides and mentors a successful team. Our strong client partnerships are key to our success. I manage these relationships directly, using my technical expertise and proactive communication skills. Outside of the office, I cherish quality time with my family. Whether I’m on a fishing trip or with friends watching a sports game, these moments help me unwind and recharge for the busy week ahead.

Safety and HR Wellness Manager

I champion a culture of collective responsibility where everyone's involvement is crucial for maintaining health, safety, and wellness. Clear communication and understanding of roles and expectations ensure that each team member knows that what they're supposed to do is key to good health and safety. While risk management remains a priority, I firmly believe that focusing on our team's well-being leads to better outcomes. We promote, protect, and support our workers' mental and physical well-being, with the assistance of EAP services, chiropractic care, physiotherapy, and comprehensive company medical insurance. Outside work, I cherish my daily gym workouts, enjoy spending time with my close circle of friends and love having adventures with my rescue dog, Marla, a German Shepherd x Shar-Pei mix.

Lauren Begg

office manager

In my role, I ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our office and provide support to the team where I can. Some of my main responsibilities include handling payroll, managing bills, overseeing the fleet of company vehicles, and onboarding new employees. After spending a few years overseas and working in other industries, I returned to White’s for what was supposed to be a short-term stint. But I love the family-like environment and the variety of my role, so four years later, I'm still going strong! Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, cooking and tending to my new veggie garden. I’ve always been a lover of adventures and the outdoors, so when the weather permits, you’ll find me out on the sea, fishing or diving.

Mike upton

Key account, project and compliance manager

I wear several hats, but my primary focus is solving problems and simplifying issues for everybody. I mostly handle large projects and key accounts. I find being detail-oriented is crucial for a project to succeed. I finished my apprenticeship and qualified in my early 20s, going on to jointly own and operate two air conditioning businesses over 20 years. I've now been part of White Refrigeration for 15 years and thrive as a key member of a supportive team. I love the freedom and autonomy of my job. However, I know if I encounter challenges, I can talk to the team, and we can find a solution together.

Jeff Nawalu

Service supervisor

I’m a product of the MIT pre-trade refrigeration and air conditioning programme, where I earned my Trade Certificate. I've been in the industry for 15 years and have worked on various systems, including commercial refrigeration rack systems, walk-in coolrooms/freezer rooms, plug-in cabinets, marine refrigeration applications, HVAC installs, and diagnostic checks. I joined White Refrigeration five years ago and have recently been blessed with the opportunity to step into the role of Service Supervisor. This role involves running our excellent service department, including daily briefings for senior engineers and technicians, overseeing apprentices' training, and maximizing their potential in this industry. Being in the trade has allowed me to share my knowledge and experience with the service team, providing technical support to ensure efficient department operations and deliver quality work. I'm proud to be part of an organisation that values excellent customer relations and service. Family time is my priority when I'm not at work – I love watching my daughter grow up. I used to play rugby, but after a few knee surgeries, I enjoy those weekend sleep-ins now!

I focus on technical sales and project management, where I’m involved in every stage, from design to delivery. It’s rewarding to see a satisfied customer at the end of a project. With 36 years of experience as a refrigeration and air conditioning engineer, I've gained extensive knowledge and expertise. I've kept up with industry advancements in designing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting various cooling systems. I approach each project carefully, customising it to meet my client's specific needs while maintaining industry standards. I'm passionate about advancing cooling technologies and providing exceptional service. Spare time is all about fishing and exploring this wonderful country we made our own in 2016.

I started as an apprentice here at White Refrigeration over twenty years ago, collecting accolades along the way, such as winning the MIT Apprentice of the Year award. I then completed my Advanced Trade Certificate, which focused on the design of refrigeration systems. I’m passionate about my industry and enjoy engineering solutions for customers. I’m also a registered apprentice assessor, mentoring our five apprentices. Quality family time is my top priority. Nothing puts your feet back on the ground like pretending to be Barbie with a four-year-old. When I'm not at work, you can catch me on the golf course (mostly off it) playing a round or two when I can.

I manage and develop key client relationships and oversee the execution of projects. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication, and leadership skills. Strong attention to detail coupled with a high level of resourcefulness is also important. I value going the extra mile for my team and customers. By prioritising exceptional service and teamwork, we can make a significant difference in achieving success and building strong relationships. Until recently, I used to train for and participate in multi-sport endurance races. However, my three sons and their various sports are what keep me busy these days!

We're qualified to help.

We are IQP registered and compliant and can assist our clients to qualify for their building Warrant of Fitness, as required by the Building Code legislation. This means we can complete building surveys on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, and sign off PS1 & PS3.
