Installation of large-capacity refrigeration system for storage of life-saving blood products
One of our long-standing clients is the New Zealand Blood Service's Highbrook Distribution Centre, a critical facility in Auckland. We designed and installed a large-capacity, long-term refrigeration system to ensure the safe storage of life-saving blood products.
Reliability is paramount. To prevent disruptions, we've designed the system with 100% redundancy – a failsafe system of two separate refrigeration units backed up by a generator. One room boasts ultra-low temperatures of -35°C, perfect for a dedicated quarantine freezer.
As part of White’s commitment to sustainability, we recommended and installed a system that uses natural carbon dioxide refrigerant, boasting a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1. This is a significant improvement over traditional synthetic refrigerants, which have GWPs ranging from 500 to 3,600.
